Just As I amTue Feb 26 2008 at 12:39pmI just finished watching the "Just As I am" video and was touched by the personal stories and to see church members express their pride and concern around how the church is dealing with the issue.... Being new to the church I do not know the history around this issue, but think the video can be used to open a good discussion. I recently went and saw "For The Bible Tells Me So" and though much of the content was informative, I would be afraid for someone from a different view point watch it, because I think they would not be open to talk after that movie. But, the way "Just As I Am" was done is in a loving way that can open the discussion. I do wish it summarized scripture and explained context of some passages a little more. That would make it complete. Thanks to all who worked on the DVD and also in the interviews. I appreciate a church who deals with issues in the open. Another reason I want my kids to grow up in this church. |
