Partnership with the
Evangelical Baptist Church
Kostroma, Russia
 

In 1989, Watts Street Baptist Church signed a Sister Church Covenant with the Evangelical Baptist Church in Kostroma, Russia and together we pledged to:

1. Follow Jesus and announce the Kingdom of God.

2. Pray regularly for each other's congregation and their individual members, and for peace everywhere.

3. Share with each other our congregational and individual experiences, lives, and dreams.

4. Plan for exchanges, beginning in 1990, if possible.

Since the signing of this covenant, there have been numerous visits, resources, gifts, prayers, letters, and emails exchanged between the two congregations.  Despite geographical distance, cultural differences, and political barriers, a spirit of Christian unity and peacemaking continues.
