Summer Sunday Forums for Adults: July 12, 19, 26, 9:45 a.m.

All adults are invited to make a detour from your usual Sunday morning routine during July and take part in one of the two Forums offered by Adult Ministries. Please click on the title of this article for more information.

Two Forums are offered this year:

Hymns of the Faith: Their Stories
Dick and Ginny Chorley and Pat Long, Leaders
The Chapel
Enjoy this time of hearing the stories behind some of the hymns that we often sing in worship. We'll develop a whole new relationship to these hymns! We'll also enjoy heartily singing some of these hymns. On the final Sunday, July 26, Pat Long will present and reflect on some of the hymns she has written.

Challenges from Little Known Women of the Bible
Sarah Jobe and Mary Elizabeth Hanchey, Leaders

What woman of the Bible has a story of suffering almost identical to Jesus'? What do Jesus and the woman in Song of Songs have in common? Why does the Bible list only the "shady" women in Jesus' lineage? What woman said that her body was food and was anointed before being mocked, stripped, and beaten? You'll uncover the answers to these and other questions in this forum, taught on July 12 and 19 by Sarah Jobe and on July 26 by Mary Elizabeth Hanchey. Be sure to bring your Bible!
